![]() ![]() What the hell did this anime made me feel? I did smile a couple of times, but I'm not sure if it's because I genuinely found it funny or if I tried to convice myself of feeling anything. Which in turn, made me feel like I was wasting my time watching anime alone at home. It made me feel like I should go out and enjoy stuff, even if I'm an adult. Besides nihilism, it also showed me that if this athletic, top-of-his-class thirty year old man managed to get a life like this (I won't say "failed" at doing so, but it certainly isn't a perfect or good-enough kind of life that one would normally expect), then what awaits me in a couple of years? meant to be taken seriously, but in a way, they are very #relatable in the sense that it's something we all go through, just never really talk about or realize. Uramichi's ramblings when he's dejected are probably not Went into this trying to find something to fry my brain for a bit, forget about my troubles, you know? What I got was more worry for my future, of aging, and being able to do nothing to change stuff. I'm not one to watch seasonal or recent anime (call me a hipster), but boredom and free time led me to check this anime out after seeing a couple of scenes online.Īnd I kinda got it? I don't watch many from this genre, but to be honest it was nothing unexpected. Especially since there's not much of a plot in the first place, this anime is simply something I go to when I am procrastinating, laugh at the negativity, and then continue with whatever I'm working on.ĭefinitely not recommended for binge watching. This anime is definitely not for everyone. It helps me take things in life less seriously, and helps me to let things go. it rated at 10/10 since I'm absolutely in love with their self-depreciative humour. Which encouraged me to keep coming back for more after work without worrying about how I've already forgotten the plot and characters, since you don't need to know anything beyond its initial setting to see what's happening in the anime. Th characters are admittedly rather 2-dimensional, and not much development really ever occurs. Though I get why the music is children-song-esque, it just doesn't appeal to me. Singing is great with Miyano Mamoru and Nana Mizuki, but music overall is "meh" at best. It has 0 plot, near-zero character development, and average art. The comedy does not really hit and across 6 episodes of the same thing of Uramichi and zero progression, it grows boring. ![]() ![]() The plot threw my enjoyment down the hill pretty much. I have no complaints with the sound, as it was well done. ![]() The other voice actors do great as well, especially through their contributions in the singing parts. The VA for Uramichi does pretty well, especially in his expression of Uramichi's discontent while he's smiling. There was nice graphics for the show, and the idea of presenting another graphic to show the "TV version" was quite nice. Uramichi explains that he has to work so he can "eat the next day," but that's also just not true.Īll in all, due to the zero progression, I stopped watching. Even though he doesn't like his work, there is no explanation of how he got to where he is and why he continues to work where he's at. it might be a slice of life, but there was zero progression on Uramichi's part, which thoroughly irritated me. This anime has an interesting concept, but after watching 6 episodes of this show, I did not see Uramichi have any significant developments, which I guess is completely fair, as the structure is not built to show any growth out of Uramichi. As a result, I watched to see what Uramichi would do each episode. This anime is a comedy/slice of life type anime that focuses on the life of Uramichi, who is always depressed with his work. This review explains why I do not recommend this anime. ![]()
